As General Manager in Shanghai, you will head the entire Asia & Oceania operation. You combine strategic insight with commercial decisiveness and know how to align people and processes efficiently. You are an entrepreneurial leader working at board level, reporting directly to the group CEO.
You are responsible for achieving ambitious growth targets in a competitive, international environment - with particular focus on market development, customer focus and profitable expansion.
Function
- Implement a forward-looking commercial vision tailored to the market, in line with the group's broader vision.
- Lead the local sales team (consisting of five salespeople and one sales director) and drive their performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships wit the customers and know how to turn them into lasting partnerships.
- Optimise existing distribution channels and explore new routes to market through manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
- Oversee daily operations and efficient cooperation between all departments, including sourcing, logistics and finance.
- Establish budgets, monitor margins, and ensure a healthy balance between sales growth and cost control.
- Monitoring commercial performance, reporting to the CEO and making adjustments where necessary based on analyses and KPIs.
- Monitor compliance with laws and regulations, quality standards and ensure that all activities conform to standards.
- Business card of organisation in the region, bridge between the local team and head office, and actively help build brand and market position in Asia & Oceania.
Profile
We are looking for a strong, experienced leader with a strategic view and sharp commercial instinct. You feel at home in an international context, know how to get people and markets moving, and combine vision with result-oriented leadership.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in management roles, where you were demonstrably responsible for revenue growth, team development and market expansion.
- Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets within international environments.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial strategy, sales processes, distribution models and key account management.
- Strong leadership skills with a coaching style and knows how to motivate and grow teams in a sustainable way.
- Analytically savvy and can interpret complex market data to make informed, strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and able to switch between different stakeholders, cultures and levels.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Natural affinity with Asian culture and knows how to adapt smoothly to the local context professionally and culturally.
